Working in the media, you get to have free things. You get free food, merchandise and when they send you abroad, you might get free accommodation.
You get to meet famous people. VIPs know you by name. Sometimes, they personally request for your presence at their event. A lot of other people from various industries know you, too.
However, you don't always get to write what you want. Your article will get filtered by the editor before being published. Sometimes your article does not get published at all, due to the 'sensitivity' of the subject.

Being in the media, you don't have to work from 9 to 5. The fact is, you don't even know when you have to work. Sometimes, you have a function as early as 7 a.m. Sometimes, you have functions in the evening. Sometimes, you work on all seven days.

It's a full commitment. The word I don't fancy. You don't only commit to the organization you represent, but also to the society and your country. You also hold a huge responsibility to them. What you write affects a lot of people.
Is it still a glamourous job?
